OREGON Able to parlay all of his physical gifts to his benefit last fall to enjoy a breakout campaign. Now that he returns as a proven commodity, it is up to him to refine his consistency and take his game to the next level. One of his team’s most physical receivers, took advantage of the opportunity to operate from the slot and avoid defenders at the line of scrimmage. Proved to be team’s most consistent wideout on a weekly basis last fall as he improved his attention to detail. Jumped out to a tremendous start last spring and has shown signs of emerging leadership skills. His 4.67 electronic 40 clocking last winter was second among players at his position following a 4.52 time in 2006. Improved his vertical leap to 34.5 inches and power clean to 330 lbs. after pacing all receivers with a 445-lb. squat.
2006 The 12-game starter completed the season as team’s fourth-leading receiver after accumulating eight catches for 97 yards his first two years. Included was a career-high nine receptions for 88 yards at Washington State one week after grabbing four passes for a personal-best 105 yards and one touchdown against UCLA. Yet finished second on the team in average yards per catch (13.3). Snared his first career TD catch in dramatic fashion, hauling in a 23- yard throw in the end zone for the winning score vs. Oklahoma with 46 seconds remaining in the game. That came after he was credited with deflecting the on-sides kick away from the Sooners that gave Oregon an opportunity to continue its comeback. Also finished as team’s fourth-best rusher, accumulating 77 yards on seven carries. Ran for 43 yards against Washington, including a season-long 21- yard gain. Acknowledged as team’s offensive player of the week in win over UCLA.
HIGH SCHOOL The first-team Dream Team (Long Beach Press- Telegram) receiver and all-Moore League pick provides a physical presence despite his untapped potential. It was a long way for a kid who tripped over his own feet but he became a QB that could run and throw circles around you. Kyle is now competing for the starting QB position at Occidental College
